Advisor’s Message
I consider it an honour to be the Advisor of the Indian Alumni Association of the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), as the UIAA is very special to me, having had a very long wait and dreamt about it. This year 2022 was indeed a very special year when finally, UIAA was officially launched in concurrent with the celebration of 20th Anniversary of UMP.
The main objectives of the Association are to promote a close network between the members and the professional world, to create bridging between the members and the university students in the best interest of sharing knowledge of tomorrow, and to ensure that programs are initiated for the benefit of Indian community development and in pursuit of academic excellence and skills. I really hope that all the members would come together in making these objectives a success by quoting;
“We cannot build our own future without helping others to build theirs”

As you may already know, the Association was the brain-child of a group of active alumni whom have been all working throughout the pandemic. I am certain that UIAA would not have been possible today if not because of their sacrifice. I am proud to say that the Association already has a group of members who are highly qualified and with outstanding skills. But this is not enough as we need more members to grow and to become stronger over time. For that I am reaching out to our distinguished alumni who have already made their significant progress both nationally and internationally to be part of UIAA. Furthermore, I see there is an urgent need for UIAA obtaining the co-operation and participation of the members to look after the welfare of the University students, particularly the students who are financially challenged with the goal of achieving their academic and professional goals. The interaction of the Association with students is necessary to prevent these students from digressing away from their focus in education due to external and internal pressures.
One of the important tasks that we shall set out for ourselves this year is to significantly increase the Association membership. I certainly believe, we will be successful in achieving this provided everyone is on the same page. I hope that the UIAA website will act as a tool for communication among the members. We have many initiatives planned for the coming years and many projects in the pipeline to increase member benefits and interaction, student welfare and our reach and impact as the future leaders.
Therefore, I also take this opportunity to call upon our membership and all alumni of the University to partner with us and lend us your co-operation and assistance to embark on this challenge and make this vision a success.
